Using balanced methodology, yoga unites the body (via a
combination of movements and postures) with the breathing and
meditation techniques that bring peace of mind. Yoga can be used
as a tool for physical and mental self-discipline, as a process of
developing a deeper understanding of ourselves, and as a therapy
(to restore and support through periods of illness or strain).
Yoga at Equilybrium is designed to actively pursue a sense of life
balance and complements daily life, bringing a sense of peace and
purpose to all activities. Sessions are taught in numerous formats
including classes & workshops, group sessions in a corporate
environment and/or private tuition. Whatever your needs,
the right teaching method is available to you.
Asanas (postures) tone the muscles, joints and skeletal system,
internal organs, glands and nerves improving their function and
maintaining their health. Large reserves of energy can also be
freed through regular practice of yoga postures due to the release
of physical and mental tension. Asana practice helps to heal the
body and bring it back to a strong, stable state.
Breathing exercises revitalise the body and help discipline the
mind, leaving us refreshed and calm. Through the conscious
control of breathing, you will learn how to eliminate the effects
of stress and negative emotions that can cause many serious
illnesses. In yoga, the breath forms the link between the body
and mind and is used to change our external and internal states.
Breathwork combined with visualization forms a powerful healing
and transformative practice on all levels.
Meditation and positive thinking practices provide increased
clarity, mental power and concentration. Through the practice
of meditation, a deep experience of happiness and contentment
arises naturally from within as we begin to bring ourselves into
alignment with our deepest driving desires and Life Purpose.
